Rebooting for 2017

So tomorrow is my birthday and I have been dreading the experience probably for the last 12 months or even more. I started 2016 with a death in the family and it’s ending that way as well…sometimes the cycle of life seems to be a challenge in itself. 2016 has brought with it lots of sorrow and lots of joy. It is so important to recognise that it’s the hard times, the moments of sadness that really enable us to appreciate those times of joy.

How does one learn to be grateful for the life we live and the experiences we have? Having grown up in two cultures and sharing my life experiences between the UK and Jamaica…I’ve noticed gratitude and ingratitude in both places and in all age groups. Have you ever gotten on a London bus and given up your seat for someone without even a ‘thank you’ being uttered. Or held open a door in Kingston and have the person barge past without batting an eyelid?
